This is my first attempt at building a level (I just figured out texture
mapping and light shading in time for the contest). I wanted a good multi-
player level since we were getting bored of playing the same old levels at
the office during lunch. As it turned out, Dance Hall was a big hit for
team games (note that the blue team will have a slight advantage due to
the dominant presence of blue textures).

There is nothing too complicated about the layout (besides a few hidden
doors and some "fly-throughs"). Most of the action tends to end up in the
basement (the layer at the bottom with the blue tile floor). Once a team
has control of that area, it will tend to lead the scoring. The columns
room seemed like a great idea but turned out to be a bit of a drag--especially
if you have anything less than a pentium. I went a little cube crazy, not
knowing how it would affect performance. After spending so much time on it,
I just had to include it anyway. I think the effect, while slow, is still
pretty neat and it leads to some interesting dog-fighting.

The plasma cannon in the double corridor was placed for aggravation. I
intended that it would be impossible to reach but one of my opponents was
actually able to get to it and still won't tell me how (probably a fluke
but if you do it: e-mail me how!).

There are plenty of smart missles (my favourite), lots of homings and a couple
of megas. There are two cloaks and the single invulnerability is placed in
a tricky room to get to (hint, why would I go through the trouble of re-
texturing the core of the "big-ball" room?). There is also a multitude of
shield boosts scattered about.

I tried to keep flight paths fairly natural with minimal annoying sharp turns
and no 4-d effects (which always confuse the hell out of me). The open spaces
are abundant to facilitate dog-fights, but there's always something to duck
behind.

The reactor is well hidden and out of the way so as not to tempt premature
termination of a good match (don't'cha hate that?).

B.T.W. if you hate my colour schemes, I can say that my wife sympathizes with
you ( she won't let me decorate our home ;-) )

Anyhow, that's the scoop, so fire it up an let's dance,

-Tango.
